Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging

Following the government’s most recent cash injection into the EV market, it’s clearer than ever which direction the UK is headed regarding electric vehicles.

This news of a £500 million investment comes at an important time for Uniper’s Engineering Academy as it gets ready to launch its City & Guilds accredited EV charging training course. This qualification will train electricians to install the EV charging units that are becoming more common at service stations, car parks and domestic properties to a recognised standard. The thorough practical assessment and theoretical exam should give employers peace of mind that staff who achieve the certificate can demonstrate their capability to carry out installations safely and professionally.

“We anticipated an increase in demand across the country for EV charging skills so we’ve redeveloped part of our electrical skills workshop as a dedicated EV charging training and assessment area” said Roy Stokes, Operations Manager at the Academy. “With there being several large suppliers of the EV charging hardware, we decided to invest in a range of different suppliers’ charging points so that attendees can get experience of different types in a safe training environment” he concluded.

The course will be available from the start of October 2019, if you’d like to find out more then please do get in touch with us.
