Glowing report for Uniper Engineering Academy from Ofsted!

After a two-day monitoring visit in January, Ofsted has given the Academy praise for its performance in delivering high-quality apprenticeship training.

Following the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in 2017, the government gave Ofsted the task of carrying out monitoring of all the newly-accredited apprenticeship training providers.

The Uniper Engineering Academy was one of the first swathe of providers to receive accreditation and last month, Ofsted inspectors spent two days on site, talking to apprentices, customers and staff.

The result – a resounding seal of approval for the Academy and the work it carries out to equip apprentices for the world of work.

“We were delighted to receive a glowing report from Ofsted,” said Mark Lickess, Compliance Manager at the Engineering Academy. “They were looking for evidence showing that the right leadership is in place, that high quality training is available, enabling successful outcomes for each apprentice, and that the right safeguarding measures are in place.

“The resulting report shows we are scoring highly in each area.”

Added Mark: “Of course, this is hugely encouraging and a testament to the hard work that’s put in by every member of the Academy team, and the support services.

“It’s also notable that we achieved this excellent rating against a backdrop where 20% of the other providers visited had at least one ‘insufficient progress’ notification and 63% received a ‘reasonable’ rating. This is a further demonstration of the excellence offered by our apprenticeship scheme!”
