The Local COVID Alert Level will be rising to Tier 3 this week but the Engineering Academy is COVID Secure and will be continuing to deliver training during this time.

The past few months have been a challenging time for many. The impacts have been different for everyone but for us, perhaps the greatest difficulty has been the disruption caused to the apprenticeship programme that we run due to the practical nature of the courses that we deliver. However, we’ve been able to continue some delivery online, keeping our apprentices in a learning mindset and stretching them during the period of uncertainty!

As the UK’s COVID-19 lockdown restrictions continue to be eased, the Engineering Academy has been hard at work getting ready to open its doors again on June 22nd to deliver training. We’ve used remote learning solutions up to now to support our customers which have gone down very well but it’s not been possible to do this with our practical courses. Whilst we’re still a long way from ‘normal’, we’ve been working with Drax Power Limited to deliver courses on their site - our first face to face training courses since lockdown began.
