Course Content

This course is theoretical and will teach what is required to pass the City & Guilds exam. There are seven units making up the course relating to Parts 1-7 and the 17 Appendices of BS 7671:2018.

• Scope, object and fundamental principles
• Definitions
• Assessment of general characteristics
• Protection for safety
• Selection and erection of equipment
• Inspection and testing
• Special installations or locations
• Appendices

Course Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements for you to undertake this qualification. However, you must ensure that you have the potential and opportunity to successfully gain the qualification. It is expected that you will have reasonable knowledge of electrical installation theory.

City & Guilds require you to be registered for this course approximately 1 week prior to the exam date. Please make sure you make the Engineering Academy aware of the candidate's name and date of birth at time of booking. You are required to bring a copy of the IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018) Blue book (ISBN-13: 978-1785611704).
